    Today the topic 'our children' usually gives rise to bitter remarks with a hint of nostalgia: children have been spoilt by a civilization of "everything, immediately"; children are kings to whom the media attach too much importance - there are children who are disrespectful or violent whose future will definitely be more difficult than that of preceding generations.
    Adopting a multidisciplinary and international approach, this book proves repeatedly that things are not as simple as they seem.
    The place of the child has changed considerably over time; the concept of 'rights of the child' has now been acquired and with it, the right to live a childhood worthy of the term - which does not prevent the numerous forms of violence to which children are subjected here and there. However, through a series of unusual portraits ("Adonaissants" in search of their identity, cybernauts) as we turn the pages, we discover young people eager for new forms of interdependence, with a commitment to democratic values, ready to become involved in the planet, curious, adaptable and happy.
